Our Story
Taking care of children has always been the dream of the Proprietress for a long time. Even though she was uncertain on how to go about it, she believed it was part of God’s purpose for her life. More so, due to the fact that her mother and siblings were all trained teachers or lecturers at one point or another in their lives.
This dream was further nurtured when she relocated to McCarthy Hill in Accra and enrolled her daughter in one of the neighbouring schools. The standard of the School was so high that her daughter struggled to catch up with the rest of the students in the school, and as a result, our proprietress had no option than to home school the daughter in addition to the tuition she was receiving at School. The results were realised eventually, and in no time, her daughter became one of the best in her class.
This then prompted our proprietress to start a School on her own. She enrolled at the Institute for Care Givers, Children Workers, and Entrepreneurship University College, affiliated with the University College of Education (Winneba), after which she enrolled with Jolly Phonics UK and Ghana. Then finally, she enrolled for a Diploma in Montessori Training at the Learning Ark Montessori Centre.
On the 26th of May, 2014, Royal Starlets’ Montessori Academy was birthed with 4 children, 2 teachers, and the Proprietress herself, and now here we are. We must say it hasn’t been a jolly ride; the road has been full of bumps and sharp curves, but we have persevered throughout these years and growing from strength to strength.
With a student population of over 150, and a staff number of 15, Royal Starlets’ Montessori Academy is obviously the place to be if your priority is quality education and proper care of your ward.
